In West Bengal, three crude bombs were hurled outside BJP MP Arjun Singh's home in North 24 parganas at around 6.00 am on Wednesday morning despite security presence. Though Singh was in Delhi but other family members were at home when the incident occurred. Arjun Singh flew back to Kolkata. The bombs were thrown at the home of the BJP MP at Jagatdal, around 100 km from Kolkata, allegedly by three men on a bike. No one was injured and police are on the spot.. BJP Chief Dilip Ghosh has said the assailants are most probably from Bengal's ruling Trinamool Congress. Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar in his tweet called unabated "wanton violence" in Bengal and said he had flagged his concern to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Wanton violence in WB shows no sign of abating.
— Governor West Bengal Jagdeep Dhankhar (@jdhankhar1) September 8, 2021
Bomb explosions as this morning outside residence of Member Parliament @ArjunsinghWB is worrisome on law and order.
Expect prompt action @WBPolice. As regards his security the issue has been earlier been flagged @MamataOfficial.
The Trinamool Congress, on the other hand, said the bomb attack was a result of the Bengal BJP's internal feud. Singh, formerly a Trinamool MLA, quit and joined the BJP in 2019 and won in the general elections from the Barrackpore parliamentary constitutency. He dominates the Bhatpara - Jagatdal belt which has seen sporadic skirmishes between Trinamool and BJP even after the Bengal elections.
