The Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted for the allegations of misappropriation of donations and valuables at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya begun its probe. The SIT is headed by Divisional Commissioner of Lucknow Vijay Vishwas Pant with Inspector General of Police Kiran S and Special Secretary, Finance Department Neel Ratan as members. All members reached Ayodhya and started their investigation. They visited the Ram temple premises on Monday along with the commissioner and DM of Ayodhya. The SIT was constituted by the state government after allegations surfaced regarding irregularities in the handling of donations and valuables offered at the Ram Temple. Authorities have not yet made any findings public and the probe is at a preliminary stage. The committee was directed to submit a preliminary report in seven days and a final report within 15 days.

One the other hand, Nripendra Mishra, Chairman of the Ram Temple Construction Committee is also in Ayodhya. Talking to media he said that there will not be any laxity in the probe. He said that whatever cooperation the SIT seeks, the district administration as well as Temple administration will provide.
