In a major political development in Assam, former Congress chief Bhupen Borah is set to join the Bharatiya Janata Party on 22nd February. A day after resigning from the Congress party. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday visited his residence in Guwahati and both leader had a close door meeting. Later Sarma announced that Borah will join BJP.Along with him, a good number of Congress leaders will join the BJP in Guwahati and North Lakhimpur, Sarma said. According to Sarma Borah was the last recognised Hindu leader in Congress.
