AAP supremo and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal repeated his old assurance regarding free power supply before the Uttakhand voters. In Dehradun on Sunday he , announced four guarantees including free electricity to the people of the poll-bound state. Talking to newsmen he said AAP will provide 300 units of electricity free of cost to every family of Uttarakhand if the party comes into power. Kejriwal has also promised to waive off wrong or pending bills. He also assured that like Delhi, there would not be power cuts in Uttarakhand if the part is voted to power in the state. He also announced free electricity for farmers. All old electricity bills will be forgiven, he said.
Hitting out at the ruling BJP government in the state, Kejriwal said, "The ruling party does not have a CM. They themselves say 'our CM is bad', there is a fight for CMs within the BJP." "And the opposition does not have a leader, they are busy doing the round of Delhi," he added. "Who will think about the development of Uttarakhand," he questioned. Kejriwal also said that except for ensuring 24x7 availability of electricity, the remaining three guarantees will be fulfilled right when the AAP comes into power in Uttarakhand. “It will take 3-4 years to ensure 24x7 availability of electricity as the network will have to be rectified,” he added. Kejriwal had in June visited another poll-bound state, Punjab, where he promised 300 units of free electricity for each household along with a waiver of their pending bills.
