Bollywood actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on Monday appeared before the Delhi office of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the Panama Papers case.Her name reportedly feagured in the list of 500 Indians who were named in the Panama Papers in which 11.5 million tax documents were leaked, exposing several world leaders and celebrities who had allegedly stashed away money abroad in offshore companies. The Panama Papers case is being probed by an SIT consisting of officers from ED, Income Tax, and other agencies. She was summoned earlier on two occasions. However, she didn't join the probe. Earlier on November 9, Aishwarya was summoned to record her testimony in the case. Aishwarya Rai's husband, actor Abhishek Bacchan, was also summoned for questioning by the ED recently. The summons to Aishwarya and Abhishek were issued under the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan was also named in the list.
Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan lashed out at Bharatiya Janata Party, saying that "their bad days would begin soon" in Rajya Sabha. She called out the Chair to be “fair” and not take sides of any particular party.
