On Thursday, one prominent TMC leaders warned Mamnata Baerjee, one more Rajya Sabha MP Prakash Chik Baraik resigned from the Upper House as well as the party but Shatrughan Sinha rreaffirmed his loyalty to the party supremo, said Mamata Banerjee continues to enjoy significant public support despite the electoral setback. Trinamool MP Kalyan Banerjee has issued a clear message to party Mamata Banerjee. A staunch Mamata loyalist,Kaiyan has criticised her nephew and party general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, calling him “arrogant” and someone who thinks “everyone is beneath him”. Kalyan Banerjee ripped into her nephew Abhishek Banerjee. "It is a great humiliation to me," Kalyan Banerjee- fumed. "His arrogant attitude has destroyed the party. He should understand that." "Everyday he thinks he is the 'king'... Even in the bad days. When I am standing for the party, standing behind Mamata Banerjee, it is impossible for me to work. It is impossible because of this attitude of Abhishek Banerjee," he raged and issued an ultimatum to the TMC chief, saying, "Choose us or Abhishek." Kalyan alleged, the party will not survive. If Abhishek Banerjee remains there, the party will not last.

The outburst followed reports Abhishek Banerjee - who faces a criminal investigation in a forgery case - had dropped him as his lawyer. Kalyan Banerjee told reporters he only found out he had been replaced when a second petition was filed. His remarks came shortly after the Calcutta High Court heard a plea filed by Abhishek in connection with allegations of forged signatures of MLAs submitted to the Bengal Assembly. According to Kalyan Banerjee, he was the one who mentioned the case before the court for an urgent hearing on Wednesday, a day after searches were carried out at Abhishek and Mamata's offices in Kolkata.
Prakash Chik Baraik resigned from the Upper House as well as the party on Thursday, saying he took the decision in view of the mandate given to the BJP by the people of West Bengal. Baraik is the third TMC MP to quit this week, after Sukhendu Sekhar Ray and Sushmita Dev. Baraik met Rajya Sabha Chairman CP Radhakrishnan and submitted his resignation, sources said.
