Climate activists in the UK targeted a private airfield at Stansted Airport where they claimed US singer Taylor Swift's jet landed hours earlier and sprayed planes with orange paint. Two women of the group 'Just Stop Oil' have been arrested by the police. Two activists, Jennifer Kowalski, 28 and Cole Macdonald, 22,had been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and interference with the use or operation of national infrastructure,Essex police said.The pair used fire extinguishers filled with orange paint to spray two private jets, the Just Stop Oil group's statement said.It said they were demanding that Britain's next government after the July 4 general election legally commit to phasing out fossil fuels by 2030."Private jet users are responsible for up to 40x as much carbon emissions compared with a commercial flight," Just Stop Oil tweeted.

Taylor Swift is scheduled to perform at Wembley Stadium on Friday, Saturday and Sunday this week. The development comes on the backdrop of the American singer attracting criticism over her use of private jets.In 2022, Swift was among the "worst private jet CO2 emission offenders" among celebrities, a report said.Her jet flew 170 times in 2022, with total flight emissions reaching 8,293.54 tonnes, or 1,184.8 times more than the average person in 2022.
