Luthra brothers detained in Thailand, to be deported to India

Owners of Goa Nightclub Luthra Brothers-Saurabh and Gaurav who escaped to Phuket after fire incident, detained in Thailand, all set to be deported back to India. The restaurateurs from Delhi, who own the Romeo Lane chain with outlets in 22 cities and four countries, fled to Phuket in Thailand hours after a deadly fire ravaged 'Birch by Romeo Lane', their nightclub in north Goa's Arpora village. The brothers face a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and negligence. Indian authorities will now press for their deportation to bring them to trial in Goa.

A Look-Out Circular and an Interpol Blue Notice were issued against them later. According to sources, a Goa Police team will be travelling to Thailand to take custody of the brothers and bring them back to India for trial. Efforts to catch the Luthra brothers had been amped up, with Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant vowing to arrest them soon and warning other clubs in the coastal state to abide by safety rules lest they face crackdown by authorities.A second club owned by the duo, a shack in Goa, was demolished on CN's direction as it was illegally constructed and lacked safety measures.
