Islamic terrorism has plagued US, India and Middle East : Tulsi Gabbard

India has raised the issue of anti-India activities conducted by the Khalistani organisation SFJ (Sikh For Justice) in America. During a meeting with Tulsi Gabbard, the United States Director of National Intelligence, in New Delhi Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday expressed India's concerns and asked the US Admin to take strong action against the unlawful organisation.During the meeting, both leaders emphasized that strategic security remains a vital pillar of the comprehensive global strategic cooperation between the two nations. Singh and Ms. Gabbard reviewed the significant strides made in the areas of military exercises, strategic cooperation, and information-sharing cooperation, especially in the maritime domain, between India and the US. The Ministry of Defense, in its statement, said that the two leaders explored avenues for collaboration in cutting-edge defense innovation and niche technologies, reflecting their shared commitment to advancing mutual strategic interests. The Ministry added that both leaders also addressed key areas such as enhancing interoperability and fostering greater integration of defense industrial supply chains to bolster resilience and innovation.

Gabbard, who  met External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar earlier, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump are working together to defeat terrorism.Tulsi Gabbard  categorically mentioned "Islamist terrorism" and termed it a threat that has affected both India and America as well as several countries in the Middle East."President Trump, through his first administration and he continues now, has been very clear about his commitment to defeating this threat of Islamist terrorism that has unfortunately plagued us and has and continues to pose a direct threat to American people. We see how it has been impacting people here in India and in Bangladesh, currently ongoing in Syria, Israel and different countries in Middle East. This is a threat that I know Prime Minister Modi also takes seriously and one where our leaders will work together to try to identify and defeat that."

During the interview with news agency ANI, Gabbard also spoke about how her spiritual journey and being Hindu has helped her break all glass ceilings. "Well, my own personal spiritual practice, my personal relationship with God is the centre of my life and I do my very best every day to live a life that is pleasing to God and what better way to do that and to do my best to be of service to all of God's children. And so in different times of my life, whether serving in war zones in different parts of the world or the challenges that we face now, it is Krishna's teachings to Arjuna in the Bhagavad Gita that I turn to in the best of times and the worst of times and continuously learn critical lessons from Krishna to Arjuna that give me strength, that give me peace, that give me great comfort through all of the days."

National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval held bilateral discussions with US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard on Sunday, and presided over a meeting of global intelligence leaders to enhance cooperation on security challenges, including terrorism and technological threats. The meeting between Doval and Gabbard primarily addressed intelligence sharing and security collaboration, aligning with the India-US strategic partnership, and was a "good discussion," news agency PTI reported. The US director of national intelligence, Canadian spy chief Daniel Rogers, and UK National Security Adviser Jonathan Powell were among top global intelligence czars who attended the India-hosted security conclave in New Delhi.
