In Gujarat, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday Inaugurated the IIC of the National Institute of Design in Gandhinagar and the first phase of ‘Million Minds Tech City’, Gujarat’s first Special Economic Zone (SEZ) IT park, in Ahmedabad. Addressing the gathering in Gandhinagar, Shah said, the National Institute of Design (NID) aims to promote design culture and fully explore its commercial potential. He asked NID to expand its reach into high-tech design sectors, including semiconductor chip design.

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, while addressing the event, said, now the time has come for India to serve the whole world with its nature inspired evolutions and design. Goyal further said, this is a historic opportunity we cannot afford to miss. Our future will be based on global competitiveness, productivity, high quality, good design, and sustainable manufacturing practices, and speed in innovation will define 'New India.

In Ahmedabad, Amit Shah, said India is positioning itself as a “founder nation” in emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence, robotics, quantum computing and semiconductors. Shah said future-oriented sectors such as robotics, autonomous systems, cybersecurity, defence technology, quantum computing, semiconductors and space technology would require highly skilled manpower and advanced infrastructure.
