France together with India in fight against terror: Ravi Shankar Prasad

France on Tuesday reiterated its solidarity with India in the fight against terrorism emanating from Pakistan and agreed that the democratic world needs to speak in one voice on this issue, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said at the conclusion of the Paris leg of his all-party delegation’s visit to European capitals. The nine-member delegation was joined by representatives of the India-France Friendship Group in the French Senate led by its Vice-President, Jacqueline Eustache-Brinio, as well as members of the Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee at the grand Luxembourg Palace for their final engagement in the French capital before departing for Rome, Italy.  “All the colleagues in the Senate in this majestic building have only one word to say: we are together with India in the fight against terrorism,” Prasad told reporters.
Congress MP Anand Sharma, member of the all-party delegation led by NCP-SCP MP Supriya Sule, emphasised India's restrained and targeted response to terrorism. During an interaction with the Indian community in Johannesburg, Sharma stated that Indian forces targeted only terrorist headquarters, but when Pakistan retaliated by attacking Indian air bases, India had to respond forcefully. Sharma also highlighted Pakistan's role in harboring terrorists, saying, "We have the terrorists who had attacked Mumbai. Finally, one of them has been extradited to India.
The world knows that Osama bin Laden was found in Abbottabad, Pakistan... Indian security forces and the government had acted with utmost restraint. We had only targeted the headquarters of the terror groups. It was unfortunate that Pakistan did not pay heed; instead of taking action, they attacked Indian air bases, and there had to be a forceful Indian retaliation," Sharma said
