Electoral rolls of West Bengal & Manipur published

The electoral rolls for all 294 assembly segments in West Bengal were published on Monday, with January 1, 2025, as the qualifying date. According to the final electoral rolls, the total number of registered voters stands at 7,63,96,165, of which 3,87,93,743 are women. In addition, there are 1,811 voters belonging to the third gender, the chief electoral officer said in a statement.
Manipur’s chief electoral officer (CEO) Pradeep Kumar Jha on Monday said there are more women electors in the state than men. According to the final electoral rolls, out of 20,54,387 voters in the state, 10,61,979 are women, 9,92,140 men, and 268 third genders. This marks a significant shift, with 29,468 new voters enrolled recently, predominantly women. Service voters mainly consist of men, as evidenced by their count of 21,148, including 20,131 men. Imphal West emerges as the district with the highest number of voters, while Jiribam and Kamjong have the least.
