The West Bengal BJP has decided to nominate Rathindra Bose, MLA of the Cooch Behar (South) Constituency, as party Candidate for the Post of Speaker of the 18th West Bengal Legislative Assembly. Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Thursday made this announcement in Kolkata and hope that he gets elected unanimously. Adhikari said Bose, a first-time legislator representing Cooch Behar Dakshin, would contest the election for the constitutional post scheduled for Friday. In the 294-member House, the BJP currently holds 207 seats, placing it in a strong numerical position ahead of the Speaker’s election.
