In Jharkhand, the NDA has finalised its seat sharing formula for the Assembly election. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, BJP co-in-charge for Jharkhand Assembly elections, on Friday said National Democratic Alliance (NDA) constituents AJSU Party will contest 10 seats, JD(U) 2 and LJP (Ram Vilas) one. Sarma said while the seat-sharing arrangement is nearly finalised, the BJP is adopting a "wait and watch" strategy as rival parties, including the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, are yet to disclose their plans.Sarma said, “The AJSU will fight from 10 seats: Silli, Ramgarh, Gomia, Ichagarh, Mandu, Jugsalai, Pakur, Lohardaga, Manoharpur, Dumri. Jamshedpur West and Tamar will go to the JD(U), and Chatra will go to the LJP. The remaining seats the BJP will contest.”

Meanwhile, the Election Commission on Friday issued notification for the first phase of Assembly elections in Jharkhand. Forty-three constituencies will go to polls in this phase on 13th of November. 25th October is the last date of filing of nominations. Candidates can file their nominations from 11 AM to 3 PM. Scrutiny of nominations will be done on 28th October. Last day for withdrawal of candidature is 30th of this month. Assembly elections in Jharkhand are being held in two phases. The first phase of polling will be on 30th of this month while second phase of polling will take place on 20th November. Counting of votes will be taken up on 23rd November.
