It’s not just about productivity but also the entourage effect: Karan Gulianii

In a recent interview, Anurag Kashyap opened up about the entourage culture that exists in the industry, and said that actors come with their own team of 7-8 people, and they are allowed to do it because he or she is the actor of the film. He further said that the entourage makes it a crowd; they are quite demanding, and it increases the cost too. Writer, actor, and director Karan Gulianii, who has directed movies like Sarvann, and Amritsar Chandigarh Amritsar, has supported the filmmaker and said that it impacts not only the cost but productivity too.
He said, “I agree with Anurag Kashyap's opinion. I think it's not just about productivity but also the entourage effect. When an artist has a large entourage, it reduces the number of shots we can take, resulting in wasted time. This ultimately impacts the film's budget, and the producer has to bear the cost.” Karan believes that every story is unique, and filmmakers strive to present different perspectives, but the budget can make or break a film.“I believe that the fees charged by some stars are excessively high. In Hollywood, there is a culture of minimum guarantees and percentages, which should be adopted in Bollywood as well. If a producer earns well, the film will be successful. But if the producer incurs losses, the film suffers,” he said.
He further stressed that it's wrong for artists to demand excessive fees for their entourages and personal expenses like gym equipment, which the producer ends up paying for. “Artists should be pampered to an extent to perform well, but the responsibility for the film’s success lies with the director. If the movie flops or fails or is not able to recover its money, the producer loses their money and the director loses their credibility. Ultimately, everything boils down to the director’s vision and management, but nobody considers what goes on while making the film,” Karan ended.

Spirituality means believing in my faith and living by its principles: Shaan Mishra

Maati Se Bandhi Dor actor Shaan Mishra says spirituality for him means believing in his faith and living by its principles. He said, “Spirituality, to me, means believing in my faith and living by its principles. It's about spreading love, being respectful, helping others, and following the right path. Avoiding violence and harm to others is essential. If our actions don't harm others and we cultivate humanity within, we connect directly with God. This connection ensures we won't harm others, and that's the essence of spirituality for me.”
“Coming from a Brahmin family, I was surrounded by spirituality and a strong emphasis on dharma and daan. My family always followed the teachings of the Bhagwat Gita, Ramayana, and Mahabharat. My grandmother (dadi) would share stories from these scriptures with me, sparking my interest in dharma. Her influence inspired me to explore spirituality further,” he added. Shaan pointed out that his spiritual journey has significantly contributed to his personal growth. “As I've come closer to my spiritual self, I've experienced peace and contentment. I've learned to forgive, seek forgiveness, and understand myself better through meditation and chanting. These practices have helped me connect with a higher power, making me less materialistic and more satisfied with life. Inner peace and stability have become my companions on this journey,” he said.
“When faced with challenges, I realize I've made a mistake somewhere. Correcting it and trusting in the supreme power have become my approaches. Following Lord Shiva and the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita has been transformative, helping me overcome obstacles and gain new insights. It's like awakening my third eye to a world of new possibilities,” he added.
Advice for someone beginning their spiritual journey? “My message is simple: embrace spirituality with an open heart and mind. Believe in the journey, and don't hesitate to seek guidance. By surrendering to a higher power and living according to spiritual principles, we can find true fulfillment and inner peace. Just believe and don't leave anything incomplete,” Shaan ended.
Big Boss OTT 3 incident sparks debate: Poulomi Das stands strong amidst criticism

In the recent events on Big Boss OTT 3, it has come to light that Shivani Kumari has made derogatory remarks about the clothing choices of Poulomi Das. We, as supporters of individual preference, expression, and diversity, stand firmly with Poulomi Das and her right to wear whatever makes her feel confident. Poulomi Das is known for her unique style and bold fashion statements. She is a perfect example of embracing one's identity without any fear of judgment.
Poulomi, in her defense, stated, "If you're here to participate in a public show, come with an open mind. It is not my responsibility to cater to someone else's conservative views. I will dress as I choose, and I will not conform to anyone else's standards."
It is disheartening to see Shivani Kumari defaming Poulomi Das based on her style. She was also seen commenting about the color of Poulomi Das in a disrespectful manner. In a world that should celebrate diversity and individuality, it is discouraging to see women demoralizing other women. We believe that every individual deserves respect and dignity regardless of their fashion choices.
