Actress Monika Khanna says that the TV industry has grown by leaps and bounds. She adds that there are many changes that she appreciates. 
“Over the years,  who will be seen in Ekk Kudi Punjab Di  I've noticed significant changes in the TV industry, particularly in terms of the opportunities available. Earlier, opportunities were limited and obtaining them was challenging due to constraints such as certification requirements and time-consuming processes. However, now the scenario has transformed, and opportunities have become massive. Numerous channels are introducing a variety of shows, providing chances for writers, producers, actors, and directors to showcase their talents. The first significant change is the increased accessibility to opportunities. Every platform now offers a chance to experiment with various concepts. The second notable change is the shift in the longevity of shows. In the past, a show needed time to establish itself, but now, with the influence of ratings, the fate of a show is often decided quickly. Within a month, it becomes evident whether a show will succeed or not. However, I also acknowledge that the TV industry is undergoing a transformative phase. It's adapting to new trends and reshaping itself,” she says.
Talking about how much she watches TV, she says, “I have noticed that my TV is always on because my family and I heavily rely on it. While platforms like Netflix are prevalent, especially among parents and even in metropolitan cities, my mom, who recently started using Netflix, told me to switch on the TV. She emphasized the importance of connecting with our favourite shows on television. It struck me that our TV channels, offering a diverse range of shows, have the power to inspire and captivate.” 
TV has got competition from OTT, she says, adding, “The competition between TV and OTT platforms has become quite apparent. Many actors, directors, and production professionals have shifted from TV to OTT. This transition has intensified the competition, creating a dynamic shift in the entertainment industry. It's noteworthy that each platform, be it TV, OTT, or films, has its own audience.TV has its unique audience, and similarly, OTT platforms have their own set of viewers. Filmmakers, TV creators, and actors contribute to this diversity, often moving between these platforms to gain varied experiences. The competition has prompted individuals to explore different avenues, fostering a culture of sharing experiences. While acknowledging the competition, it's essential to recognize that each platform serves a distinct purpose. TV holds a special place with its established audience, and this competition is pushing TV to evolve and expand its horizons. Theatre also plays a role, though not everyone can engage with it regularly. Onset experiences are invaluable, and the learning curve is significant.”
She loves being part of the TV industry. “There are two things I truly appreciate about the TV industry. First, as Aruna IRani eloquently put it, our television industry allows individuals to thrive based on their skills and talents rather than academic qualifications. This resonates with me, especially considering that many accomplished professionals in the TV industry, including some with MBA degrees and esteemed academic backgrounds, have excelled without being judged solely on their academic achievements. Secondly, I believe that the professional growth I've experienced in the TV industry has not only enhanced my career but also contributed significantly to my personal development. Like many others, I have learned valuable lessons from the on-set experiences, and this constant learning is a unique aspect of our industry.
