Sensex down 102 pts, Nifty below 26,150 amid volatility

The Indian share market ended lower for the third consecutive session on Wednesday amid volatility.At close, the Sensex was down 102.20 points or 0.12 percent at 84,961.14, and the Nifty was down 37.95 points or 0.14 percent at 26,140.75. About 1939 shares advanced, 1886 shares declined, and 140 shares unchanged.
Titan Company, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Wipro, Jio Financial were the top gainers on the Nifty, while losers included Cipla, Maruti Suzuki, Max Healthcare, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, Power Grid.On the sectoral front, consumer durables, IT, pharma gained 0.5-1%, while auto, oil & gas, realty, power, telecom shed 0.5 each.BSE Midcap index added 0.6%, while smallcap index rose 0.3%.
Rupee Close:
On 7 Jan'26,the Indian rupee ended 29 paise lower to close at 89.88 against the US dollar on Wednesday versus its previous close of 90.17, according to information.
