A 17-member delegation of Foxconn management led by chairman Young Liu visited the campus on Friday. Bengaluru was the preferred destination for global companies and had been a forerunner in attracting investment, Foxconn chairman Young Liu said. The company has manufacturing units in several countries including China, India, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Czech Republic and the US. Apple Inc. partner Foxconn Technology Group plans to invest about 700 million dollars on a new plant in India to ramp up local production. The manufacturing facility will be shifted from China to Karnataka in India.
