Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, highlighted the transformative potential of India-Germany collaboration in advancing key industries, including artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, and green technology. Speaking at the inauguration of the 18th Asia Pacific Conference of German Business (APK) in New Delhi on Friday, Goyal emphasized that the combination of Germany's precision engineering with India’s scalable infrastructure could drive significant global impact. He further emphasized that India’s economy is stable and ready for future growth, supported by strong macroeconomic fundamentals, reforms, and resilience. Addressing global climate goals, Goyal reaffirmed India's commitment to its UN Climate Change Conference (COP21) promises from 2015. He highlighted that India works alongside the Global South and developed countries on climate initiatives and is currently ranked 7th in the Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI). India aims to exceed its targets, leading global efforts toward a sustainable future.

The minister expressed gratitude to the Asia Pacific Committee of German Business and the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, noting the Asia-Pacific region’s significance, home to 60% of the world’s population. Goyal pointed out that, by 2030, two-thirds of the global middle class will be in Asia, offering a vast market for growth.He added that the conference provides a platform for discussing global challenges, driving technology, and shaping policies, which will be critical in promoting industrial growth in both India and Germany.
