US destroys IRGC command facilities amid escalating conflict

The United States has claimed it destroyed key command facilities and military assets of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) amid rapidly escalating hostilities in the Middle East.In a statement posted on X, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) said US forces carried out sustained operations targeting IRGC command and control facilities, missile and drone launch sites, air defence systems, and military airfields.“US forces have destroyed Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps command and control facilities, Iranian air defense capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and military airfields during sustained operations,” CENTCOM said.“We will continue to take decisive action against imminent threats posed by the Iranian regime,” it added.

The strikes come after tensions flared over the weekend, marking a significant escalation in the region. The US Embassy in Riyadh was reportedly targeted by Iranian drones, intensifying the standoff between Washington and Tehran.
Responding to the attack, US President Donald Trump warned of a strong retaliation.“You (Iran) will soon find out Washington’s response to the attack on its embassy in Riyadh and to the killing of American soldiers,” Trump said in an interview with NewsNation.
Meanwhile, the conflict widened further as Israel launched simultaneous strikes in both Tehran and Beirut. The Israel Defense Forces said the Israeli Air Force began targeted attacks against military objectives linked to what it described as the Iranian regime and the Hezbollah militant group.Explosions were reported in Beirut early Tuesday, as Israeli forces struck positions associated with the Iran-backed group. The strikes signal a dangerous expansion of the conflict beyond Iran’s borders, raising fears of a broader regional war involving multiple actors.
