Flights between the Iranian city of Shiraz and Dubai resumed on Friday after a five-month suspension, Iran's Fars news agency reported, citing an official. The resumption restores a key air link between southern Iran and the United Arab Emirates amid continuing regional tensions.The restart of the route comes even as military hostilities between the United States and Iran continue to escalate. The conflict entered its seventh consecutive night of strikes on Friday, with the United States carrying out fresh attacks on Iranian infrastructure, including bridges, airports, power facilities and a railway station in southern Iran.

According to Reuters, US Central Command confirmed another wave of overnight strikes, extending its renewed bombing campaign. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said eight people were killed in the latest attacks, including three who died in a strike on a bridge in Bandar Khamir.Iran has also expanded its retaliatory actions beyond its borders.

The Iranian military claimed it targeted US assets in Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait and Qatar. Qatari authorities said a child was injured by falling missile debris after the country's air defence systems intercepted incoming projectiles.Iran's Tasnim news agency reported that Iranian forces attacked a Thai-flagged vessel attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Separately, the deputy governor of Bushehr said US forces struck an Iranian oil tanker docked at Kharg Island.
A senior Iranian military adviser warned that the United States could face a "full-scale offensive" if the strikes continue through the weekend. Tehran has also threatened ports in Gulf countries, linking the warning to the reported US destruction of an Iranian surveillance tower near the Strait of Hormuz, according to Fars news agency.The resumption of Shiraz-Dubai flights comes despite the heightened security situation, offering a limited sign of normalisation in civilian air connectivity even as tensions continue to rise across the region.
