In an unprecedented decision, Saudi Arabia government has banned the Tablighi Jamaat calling it one of the gates of terrorism. Saudi Islamic Affairs Ministry has directed the mosques to warn people during Friday sermon against the Tablighi Jamaat. Government has also warned people against associating with the Tablighi Jamaat which has been banned in Saudi Arabia.The government has directed the mosque preachers to allocate a sermon next Friday to warn people against Tablighi Jamaat.
Saudi government also asked mosques to inform people about the danger that Tablighi Jamaat pose to society. Originated in India in 1926, Tablighi Jamaat (Society for Spreading Faith) is a Sunni Islamic missionary movement that urges Muslims to return to a pure form of Sunni Islam and be religiously observant, especially with respect to dressing, personal behaviour, and rituals.
