The United Arab Emirates has said that it is willing to support the US military campaign against Iran to regain control the Strait of Hormuz, Fox News reported citing an interview with Anwar Gargash, diplomatic advisor to the UAE President. "For us, the Strait of Hormuz cannot be held hostage by one country," Gargash said. "We’re not ready to act as a maritime force but we will join any American-led effort, international effort to secure navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. We are ready to play our part," he added. "This is extremely important for the global economy and global trade; it is an issue that is extremely important for everybody. The Strait of Hormuz cannot be held hostage by any country," Gargash said.
Hours after Donald Trump launched a scathing and abusive tirade against Iran, urging it to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, Tehran hit back, warning that the US president was dragging his country into a ‘living hell’ and risking a wider crisis across the Middle East. "Your reckless moves are dragging the United States into a living HELL for every single family, and our whole region is going to burn because you insist on following Netanyahu’s commands. Make no mistake: You won’t gain anything through war crimes," Speaker of the Parliament of Iran Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf tweeted shortly after Trump's abusive-laden threat to Iran.
Earlier, Trump threatened to strike Iran’s power plants and bridges if Tehran failed to meet his April 6 deadline to either reach a deal or reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Taking to Truth Social, he wrote, "Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the Fuckin' Strait, you crazy bastards, or you'll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah." Trump later posted on social media, without mentioning Iran or any other details: "Tuesday, 8:00 P.M. Eastern Time!"
Tehran’s city council has approved a proposal to change the name of Argentina Square after Argentina designated the Revolutionary Guards a terrorist organization. Mehdi Pirhadi, a council member, said the move was approved in light of Argentina’s stance against the Islamic Republic and that the council’s naming committee would now review replacement options and present a final proposal at a future public session. He said the names of several killed Iranian military commanders, including Amir Ali Hajizadeh, Alireza Tangsiri, Mohammad Bagheri, Mohammad Pakpour and Majid Mousavi, had been raised as possible alternatives.
