Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed confidence that the India-Russia ties will see further strengthening in the coming years. During his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, Modi said, in about 10 years, they have met 17 times and in the last 25 years, they have had around 22 bilateral meetings.The Prime Minister said, it reflects the depth of the relations. He said, for the last 40-50 years, India is facing terrorism. Modi said, when terror attacks took place in Moscow, he can imagine the pain. The Prime Minister condemned all kinds of terrorism. He said, World has to face multiple challenges in last five years, first due Covid-19 pandemic and after that because of various conflicts. Modi hailed India Russia cooperation saying it has helped Indian Farmers and Indian Consumers.

PM Modi assured Putin that India is in favour of peace. The prime minister said that peace talks cannot succeed amid bombs, guns and bullets.Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been conferred with Russia's highest civilian honour , Order of St Andrew the Apostle, by Russian president Putin.

Addressing the media in Moscow on Tuesday with Russian President Vladimir Putin by his side, PM Modi underscored the importance of the fuel trade between India and Russia, saying it not only saved Indians from inflation but also brought stability to the international market."Citizens of many countries had to face hard times due to the fuel shortage. But due to our agreement, we were able to save people of India from fuel shortage, inflation, and bring stability," he added.India was among the few nations who continued buying Russian oil despite pressure from the West.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has thanked Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for trying to help find a peaceful solution to the Ukraine crisis. "I am grateful to you for the attention you pay to the most pressing issues, particularly trying to find ways to resolve the Ukraine crisis, primarily through peaceful means," Putin said, addressing the Indian premier during their talks at the Kremlin.Putin invited the Indian premier to the BRICS summit set to take place in the Russian city of Kazan in October. "We will be pleased to see you at the BRICS summit in Kazan this fall," the Russian leader said, addressing Modi. Russia holds the BRICS presidency this year.
