He was warmly received by Australian Minister for Housing, Minister for Homelessness and Minister for Cities Clare O’Neill upon his arrival. In Melbourne, Braving the winter chill, members of the Indian diaspora gathered in large numbers outside the Prime Minister’s hotel, greeting him with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Modi, Modi”. The welcome also featured cultural performances by local artists. Modi thanked the Indian community for the warm welcome accorded to him on the first day of his Australia visit, describing the reception as “truly unforgettable”.

During his visit, PM Modi will participate in the third India-Australia Annual Summit. He will also participate in the India-Australia CEOs Forum, where he will address a gathering of top business leaders from both countries.
