Nepal:missing plane with 22 onboard found in Mustang

In Nepal, a small passenger plane operated by a private airline crashed on Sunday with 22 people on board, including four Indians, officials said. According to the information given by the locals, the Tara Air plane crashed at the mouth of the Lamche river under the landslide of Manapathi Himal. The aircraft lost contact with the tower from the sky above Ghorepani on the Pokhara-Jomsom air route, aviation sources said. According to Nepal Army Spokesperson Brig Gen Narayan Silwal, poor visibility due to bad weather is hindering the efforts. The twin otter with the call sign 9N-AET left Pokhara Airport at 9:55 AM carrying 19 passengers (12 Nepali, four Indian and two German nationals) and three crew members. The plane  was scheduled to land at Jomsom by 10:13 AM. The Indian Embassy in Nepal is in touch with the families of the Indians who are onboard the aircraft.

The three crew members onboard the flight are: Captain Prabhakar Ghimire, flight attendant Kismi Thapa and another crew member Utsav Pokharel. The aircraft lost contact with the tower from the sky above Ghorepani on the Pokhara-Jomsom air route, aviation sources said. According to an air traffic controller at Jomsom Airport, they have an unconfirmed report about a loud noise in Ghasa of Jomsom.Ashok Kumar Tripathi, Dhanush Tripathi, Ritika Tripathi and Vaibhawi Tripathi - four members of a family from Mumbai - are among 22 people onboard a small plane that went missing. Earlier, the phone location of pilot of missing Tara aircraft, Captain Prabhakar Ghimire, was tracked.According to Yeti Airlines spokesperson Sudarshan Bartaula, Captain Ghimire's phone has been tracked, with the help of Nepal Telecom. As per the coordinates, the aircraft, based on the phone location, is perhaps somewhere around Larke of Lete area in Mustang district.
