Khamenei’s son unacceptable, Trump asks IRGC to lay down arms

US President Donald Trump said his administration intends to finish the war in Iran before turning its attention to Cuba, suggesting a shift in US foreign policy priorities once the conflict in the Middle East  concludes. Speaking at the White House during an event celebrating the Major League Soccer champions Inter Miami CF, Trump said resolving the conflict with Iran remains the immediate focus. He urged the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, the military, and the police to lay down their arms. They are only going to be killed. And now is the time to stand up for the Iranian people and help take back your country.

Trump said that he needs to be “involved” in selecting Iran’s next leader. “They are wasting their time. Khamenei’s son is a lightweight,” Trump told Axios in a phone interview, adding later, “Khamenei’s son is unacceptable to me. We want someone that will bring harmony and peace to Iran.”
