Before leaving for India, External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar held a wide-ranging discussion with UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres on Thursday in New York. In a tweet, the Minister said that he exchanged views on the global impact of the Ukraine conflict, especially on food and energy security. Dr. Jaishankar said the implications of the conflict are serious for developing countries. The External Affairs Minister also spoke with the Secretary-General about the latest developments in respect of Afghanistan and Myanmar. He appreciated Guterres' interest in working with India to effectively address important contemporary challenges. Dr. Jaishankar is on a six-day visit to US from 10th of this month. Dr Jaishankar also participated in Ambedkar Jayati function organised by @Indiain NewYork.

Dr Jaishankar arrived in New York on Wednesday evening following his visit to Washington. External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh were in Washington for the 22 Ministerial Dialogue.
