Iranian strike kills 9 in Israel, Explosions in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha

The Gulf cities of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Bahrain’s capital Manama were rocked by a fresh wave of blasts on Sunday as Iran continued its retaliatory air strikes against countries hosting US military bases. Tens of thousands of travellers remain stranded after countries across the Middle East closed their airspace and key airports following the US-Israeli attack on Iran.
At least nine people were killed after a missile strike on the Israeli town of Beit Shemesh, the Israeli ambulance service said on Sunday. The missile struck a residential area in the city, destroying a synagogue and causing extensive damage to a public bomb shelter and surrounding homes.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said on Sunday it had fired four ballistic missiles at the US aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, according to a statement carried by Iranian media. Three people have been killed and 58 others injured in the UAE since Iran began its retaliatory campaign in the Gulf in response to US and Israeli attacks, authorities say.
The UAE has detected 165 ballistic missiles, destroying 152, and intercepted two cruise missiles, its defense ministry says. A total of “541 Iranian drones were detected, 506 of which were intercepted and destroyed,” the ministry adds in a statement.
Saudi Arabia's foreign ministry said it summoned the Iranian ambassador, a day after the kingdom accused Tehran of targeting its territory with strikes. "Foreign Ministry summons the Iranian ambassador to the Kingdom in response to Iran's brazen attacks that targeted the Kingdom and a number of brotherly countries," the ministry said in a statement on its X account.
Meanwhile,Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that an interim leadership council established after the killing of supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has begun its work. Pezeshkian said in a recorded video statement broadcast on state TV. He added that the Islamic Republic's military "will forcefully crush the enemy's bases".

Reza Pahlavi, the exiled son of Iran’s last shah, said the killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei marked the beginning of the end of the Islamic Republic. He claimed the regime was “drawing its final breaths” and urged remaining officials to surrender power and accept a transition plan. Pahlavi warned that any attempt to appoint a successor to Khamenei would lack legitimacy and called on Iran’s military and security forces to turn against the ruling system and side with the people. He also urged Iranians inside the country and abroad to step up protests and mobilisation to bring down the government.
