Nand Mulchandani, an Indian-origin man, has been appointed as Central Intelligence Agency's (CIA) first-ever Chief Technology Officer. Mulchandani studied at Delhi’s Bluebells School International between 1979 and 1987. The announcement was made by CIA Director William J Burns. According to CIA, Mulchandani has over 25 years of expertise working in Silicon Valley. Mulchandani “brings substantial private sector, startup, and government expertise to CIA”.

With more than 25 years of experience, Mr. Mulchandani will ensure the Agency is leveraging cutting-edge innovations to further CIA's mission.
Following a degree in Computer Science and Math from Cornell, Mulchandani pursued a Master of Science degree in Management from Stanford as well as a Master in Public Administration degree from Harvard. Before his new role at the CIA, Mulchandani served as the CTO and Acting Director of DoD's Joint Artificial Intelligence Center.
