Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that India has supported the Gaza peace plan. Speaking at a joint press briefing with his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu in Israel, PM Modi said that the road to peace can be achieved through the Gaza Peace initiative. "India's stance is clear: Humanity must never become a victim of conflict. A path to peace has been created through the Gaza Peace Plan. India has fully supported these efforts. In the future as well, we will continue dialogue and cooperation with all countries," he added. Modi said, India will move forward on joint development, production and transfer of technology in defence cooperation with Israel.

Prime Minister Netanyahu showered praises on the Indian leader and thanked him for standing by Israel's side after the dastardly attack of October 7, 2023. PM Modi was among the first world leaders to condemn the deadly attacks by Hamas in which almost 1,200 Israelis were killed and some 250 kidnapped.

India and Israel signed several agreements to deepen ties across sectors, including innovation and agriculture, following talks between Modi and Netanyahu. "An agreement has been reached for use of UPI in Israel,” said PM Modi.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held wide-ranging talks with his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu, focusing on boosting bilateral ties in areas of defence and security, trade, technology and agriculture. The two sides are also expected to deliberate on the prevailing situation in the Middle East.“The two countries will also pursue joint development, production, and transfer of technology in defence,” said PM Modi after delegation-level talks with his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem.
Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister paid homage at Yad Vashem, Israel’s official memorial to the victims of the Holocaust. Accompanied by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, he laid a wreath at the Hall of Remembrance and visited the Book of Names, which commemorates millions of Jewish victims. This marked PM Modi’s second visit to the memorial, the first being in 2017
