Former US NSA John Bolton indicted, 'He is a bad guy', says Trump

John Bolton, President Donald Trump’s former national security adviser, has been indicted. He faces eight counts of transmission of national defense information and 10 counts of retention of national defense information. Bolton, a longtime government official and United Nations ambassador with a high-level security clearance, served in the first Trump administration as national security adviser from 2018 to 2019. President called him a bad guy.

The indictment accuses him of sharing sensitive government information with two relatives for possible use in a book he was writing. Prosecutors allege that Bolton sent emails containing information derived from his meetings with senior US officials, discussions with foreign leaders, and intelligence briefings. These exchanges reportedly included notes and summaries that were classified in nature. The indictment further states that Bolton and his relatives discussed incorporating some of the material into a planned book project. Bolton allegedly referred to the two as his "editors" in their communications.
