PM Modi pays tribute to Assam movement martyrs

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday took part in a series of engagements on the second day of his two-day visit to Assam, including an interaction with students, paying homage to the martyrs of the historic Assam Movement, and laying the foundation stone of a major ammonia-urea fertiliser project in Namrup. Modi visited the Swahid Smarak Kshetra at Paschim Boragaon in Guwahati and paid homage to the martyrs of the Assam Movement. 

PM Modi set sail on river Brahmaputra on a cruise ship and interacted with students during a 'Pariksha Pe Charcha' programme on the second day of his Assam visit. A total of 25 students from various schools of Assam are taking part in the event. Modi stay for around 45 minutes aboard the three-deck 'M V Charaidew 2', officials said.
