Mamta has a history of disrupting work of central agencies: Suvendu

West Bengal LoP Suvendu Adhikari has allrgrd that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has a history of disrupting the work of the central agencies. Adhikari termed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's visit to IPAC chief Pratik Jain's house during the ED raid on Thursday as "unconstitutional and interference" in the central agency's probe. Talking to reporter in Kolkat,he said that the ED should take steps against the chief minister. "I feel that the chief minister and the Kolkata police commissioner's visit was unethical, unconstitutional and direct interference in the central agency's investigation," Adhikari said. Adhikari further said that in 2021, she was sitting on a protest outside the CBI office... Naturally, this kind of action by the Chief Minister, direct interference in the work of constitutional institutions and obstruction of the investigation, is condemnable for a Chief Minister, who is not just a political leader but also an administrative authority. ED will surely take action against the Chief Minister as well, using its powers."

ED on Thursdau conduted searches at 15 locations in 13 cities of six states. This includes Muzaffarpur and Motihari in Bihar, Kolkata in West Bengal, Ernakulam, Pandalam, Adoor, and Kodur in Kerala, Chennai in Tamil Nadu, Rajkot in Gujarat and Gorakhpur, Allahabad and Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. ED noted that the gang used fake email accounts, impersonating official government domains, to send fraudulent joining letters. The probe agency added that, to gain trust, the gang made initial salary payments for 2-3 months to some victims, who were placed in roles like RPF, TTE, and Technician in Indian Railways.
