In Bihar, bungalow number 10 Circular Road has become a new bone of contention between the state government and former CMs-Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabari Devi. Earlier, the Bihar government has withdrawn the top-category Z-plus security cover of RJD leaders Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi, following a review of the protection provided to VIPs in the state, officials said. The Y-category security cover provided to Tej Pratap, chief of the Janshakti Janta Dal (JJD) and the elder son of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad, has also been withdrawn, they said.

According to a notification issued late on Thursday, former chief ministers Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi will now be provided security cover by the Bihar Special Armed Police (BSAP). The decision was taken after the department reviewed the security of various VIP protectees in the state, an official said. Bihar Minister Shravan Kumar has said that when the public is rejecting them and has reduced them to 25 seats, the question arises whether they still need security or not.

Janta Dal, United also expressed same views. The party national spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan said, "Security is allocated in different categories based on the level of threat a politician faces. Rabri Ji is no exception. She should respect the state government's decision."

However, the existing security arrangements for RJD MP Misa Bharti, and Tejashwi’s wife Rajshri Yadav will remain unchanged. The Bihar Home Department issued the order late on Thursday following a routine review of VIP security arrangements in the state. The development comes after the Bihar government asked Rabri Devi to vacate 10 Circular Road, which has now been allotted to Bihar Minister Nand Kishore Ram. The state government's notice said that Rabri Devi had previously been allotted an alternative government accommodation at Hardinge Road in her capacity as Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Council, but had not yet moved. The Bihar government has given the Lalu family a 15-day deadline to vacate the official residence, requiring them to leave by mid-June.
