Newsinc24 Team In Jammu and Kashmir, a migrant worker was killed and another injured after terrorists opened fire on them at a brick kiln in Kulgam district on Friday evening.The deceased has been identified as Deepak Ratray, 24, and the injured labourer is Bopinder, 28, both hailing from Chhattisgarh.One non-local worker succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital, while the other was referred to Government Medical College, Anantnag, and later shifted to hospital in Srinagar for advanced treatment.
A senior police officer said that after the attack, the terrorists fled from the spot and a massive search operation has been launched in Kilam village and its surrounding areas. "The security forces are trying to trace the terrorists responsible for this attack." An official said that the incident occurred in the Kelam area of Kulgam district when terrorists targeted migrant workers at a brick kiln this evening, resulting in the death of one labourer, and grievous injuries to another.
This is the second terror attack in south Kashmir in the last two weeks despite a high security alert. Earlier,on July 22, terrorists shot dead a policeman at Lal Chowk Anantnag district. The policeman was deployed on Amarnath Yatra duty. Both attacks took place despite a high security alert in the Valley, especially in South Kashmir, due to the ongoing Amarnath Yatra.
