CM Patel woos Canadian Gujarati entrepreneurs for investment

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has invited Gujarati entrepreneurs based in Canada to invest in the state and participate in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027, urging the diaspora to contribute to the development of their home state.
Patel extended the invitation during his recent visit to Canada as part of an overseas outreach aimed at attracting global industrialists, investors and technology leaders to Gujarat.During his recently concluded tour of the US and Canada, Patel received a traditional welcome in Toronto from members of the Gujarati community and representatives of the Consulate General of India.

Addressing a reception organised by Friends of Gujarat-Canada, Patel said Gujarat had emerged as one of India's growth engines after more than two decades of sustained development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Recalling Gujarat's development journey since its formation as a separate state in 1960, Patel said the state had progressed significantly from a time when many villages lacked basic infrastructure such as roads, electricity and water.He also said Gujaratis could take pride in Modi's contribution to enhancing India's standing globally as the country's prime minister.
Patel highlighted the contribution of the Gujarati community to Canada's economy and congratulated members of the diaspora for their achievements. He said the community's distinctive identity was its ability to preserve the spirit and culture of Gujarat wherever it settled."The unique identity of a Gujarati is that he can create an atmosphere of Gujarat wherever he lives," Patel said, according to agency reports.Highlighting Gujarat's growing role in India's technology and manufacturing landscape, the chief minister said six semiconductor plants had been started in the state. He also pointed to the success of previous editions of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, which, he said, had helped attract growing investment into the state.
Patel urged Gujarati entrepreneurs settled in Canada to explore investment opportunities in Gujarat and contribute to the state's continued development. He described such investments as a way for the diaspora to "repay the debt" of their motherland by supporting its economic progress.The chief minister also invited members of the Gujarati diaspora in Canada to attend the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027 and participate in the state's investment and development journey.Patel's recent foreign outreach was focused on strengthening Gujarat's engagement with the global business community and inviting investors, industrialists and technology leaders to participate in the upcoming summit.
