BMW flies off Mumbai bridge, flips mid-air,3 killed

In Maharashtra, three persons were killed and one injured after a BMW car met with an accident on Mumbai’s Coastal Road early Sunday morning. The accident took place near Lotus Jetty while the car was travelling from Marine Drive towards Haji Ali. According to the Coastal Road Control Room, the accident occurred due to over speeding. The injured person has been admitted to Nair Hospital. CCTV footage timestamped around 5 am on September 20, 2026, captures the car flying off the bridge and flipping in the air before crashing into a construction site below.

Tragedy on Mumbai’s Coastal Road

A BMW crashed through the Coastal Road barrier near Lala College and Lotus Jetty around 5:03 am today while travelling towards Haji Ali.

According to information, the victims involved in the crash have been identified as Aditya Oswal, 20, Aditya Jakasniya, 19, Sanay Gujjal, 21, and a 17-year-old. Gujjal was driving the car while the three others were riding along with him. Oswal is the sole survivor of the tragic incident. The boys involved in the accident were from NMIMS College in Juhu and resided in a paying guest (PG) accommodation.

All four were from Gujarat's Ahmedabad and had gone to Marine Drive. The accident happened while they were returning. The police have launched an inquiry into the incident.The Mumbai Coastal Road is a 10.58-km high-speed freeway connecting Marine Drive in south Mumbai to the Worli end of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link.
