BJP unveils 15-point 'Sonar Bangla' roadmap for West Bengal polls

Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah on Friday released the party’s manifesto – ‘Sankalp Patra’ for the West Bengal Assembly Elections in Kolkata. The BJP’s Sankalp Patra promises to implement the 7th pay commission,ensured dearness allowance (DA) to staff and Uniform Civil Code (UCC) within six months of coming to power in the state. Shah, while releasing the manifesto, said that the public feels fearful and disillusioned and is seeking change from the heart. He said that in the last 10 years, the Bharatiya Janata Party has established itself as a constructive opposition in West Bengal, and today, BJP is working as the principal opposition party in the state assembly. Shah further said that if BJP is brought to power, the government will adopt a zero tolerance policy against infiltration. Shah promised that if BJP comes to power they will provide Rs 3,000 in bank accounts of every woman and also promised 33% quota for women in all Bengal government jobs, including in police force.

The manifesto, themed around the concept of "Sonar Bangla" (Golden Bengal), promises a radical shift in governance, focusing heavily on national security, youth employment, and women's safety. Listing key commitments, Amit Shah said the BJP has outlined 15 major promises in its manifesto, aimed at addressing governance, development, and security concerns in West Bengal.
