Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said that under the three new criminal laws, cases will be resolved within three years from the filing of an FIR to a Supreme Court verdict, and announced that Madhya Pradesh will be made drug-free by December 31, 2029.“Our old justice system was known for ‘tareekh pe tareekh’. The laws made by the British were made to save their government and their rule,” Shah said while inaugurating an exhibition on the three new criminal laws in Bhopal.“Now I assure the people of Madhya Pradesh that under the new laws, from filing of an FIR to a verdict in the Supreme Court, the guilty will be punished within three years,” he said.
During his one-day visit to Bhopal, Shah also said, “We have to make Madhya Pradesh drug-free. Before December 31, 2029, MP should be free from narcotics. We will do detailed planning for this today.”

He said the new laws were aimed at protecting citizens’ “honour, property and body”, adding that their basic mantra was “justice, not punishment”. The new criminal justice framework also uses modern technologies and scientific tools, including electronic evidence, online summons, online hearings, video conferencing and forensic science.
Speaking at a Gaupalak Sammelan, Shah said Madhya Pradesh will receive a major push under White Revolution 2.0, with the state government targeting an increase in daily milk procurement from 12 lakh kg to 52 lakh kg.Shah said 75,000 new cooperative dairies would be established across the country and 46,000 existing dairies strengthened under White Revolution 2.0, with Madhya Pradesh expected to benefit significantly. He said the cooperative model would help livestock rearers get better returns and benefit from milk processing and value addition.

Today, the foundation stone will be laid in Ujjain for a plant built at a cost of Rs 255 crore, with a capacity to process 3 lakh litres of milk every day. A plant costing Rs 17 crore has been set up for the Bhopal Milk Union to process 40 lakh litres of milk...”

He also highlighted the rise in India’s milk production from around 14.60 crore tonnes in 2014-15 to 24.80 crore tonnes currently, while per capita milk availability has increased from 307 grams to 485 grams per day. Dairy exports have reached around Rs5,000 crore to countries including the UAE, Bangladesh, the US, Saudi Arabia and Bhutan.Shah also highlighted breed improvement, vaccination, fodder management, artificial insemination and sex-sorted semen to improve milk productivity and promote indigenous breeds. He said a dung-based economy could also provide additional income to livestock rearers while generating rural employment and clean energy.
During the programme, Shah digitally laid the foundation stone for a Rs255 crore milk processing plant in Ujjain with a capacity of 3 lakh litres per day. He also inaugurated a Rs16.5 crore, 40,000-litre per day product dairy plant and a Rs12.42 crore state-level central laboratory in Bhopal, according to agency reports.Shah said dairy cooperatives could also play a key role in women’s empowerment, rural development and increasing farmers’ incomes. Women livestock rearers, or Gaupalak Didis, were honoured during the programme.
