According to government sources the project will seamlessly integrate with the existing Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar metro network and help meet future transportation requirements arising from major international events planned in the region, including facilities associated with the World Police Games 2029 and the Commonwealth Games 2030.Officials noted that the metro extension is expected to reduce dependence on private vehicles, helping ease road congestion, lower travel times, and improve road safety. Better connectivity to key transport hubs such as airports, railway stations, and bus terminals is also expected to support economic activity and improve overall urban mobility. The project is designed to provide broader access to affordable and reliable public transport across different socio-economic groups while improving connectivity to workplaces, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and other essential services. In addition to transportation benefits, the metro expansion is expected to generate substantial employment opportunities. During peak construction activity, around 2,000 jobs are likely to be created, while nearly 500 personnel are expected to be engaged during the operation and maintenance phase of the project.
