The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday announced its first list of 11 candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, expected early next year. The list prominently features six leaders who recently joined AAP from the BJP and Congress.Former BJP leaders Brahm Singh Tanwar, Anil Jha, and BB Tyagi, along with ex-Congress leaders Chaudhry Zubair Ahmad, Veer Dhingan, and Sumesh Shokeen, have been given tickets to contest the elections under the AAP banner.

Both Tanwar and Jha are former BJP legislators and switched to the AAP this year. BB Tyagi, too, is a former BJP leader and a two-time councillor of Municipal Corporation of Delhi. Deepak Singhla is a senior party leader who lost to the BJP's Om Prakash Sharma in Vishwas Nagar last time. Sarita Singh heads the AAP's student wing, Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti, and a former MLA from Rohtas Nagar. Somesh Shaukeen, too, is a former Congress MLA who switched to the AAP this year.
