95 defeats, Rahul, a symbol of consistent electoral losses: BJP

After poor show of INDIA bloc in Bihar, Congress party and its leader Rahul Gandhi was on BJP's target. The BJP on Friday escalated its attack on Rahul Gandhi as the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) appeared headed for a decisive victory in the Bihar assembly election. With counting underway, a map is viral on social media showing Gandhi's "95 electoral defeats" over the past two decades. BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya posted a graphic detailing elections from 2004 to 2025 in which the Congress under Rahul Gandhi either lost state power or failed to make electoral gains. "Rahul Gandhi! Another election, another defeat! If there were awards for electoral consistency, he'd sweep them all. At this rate, even setbacks must be wondering how he finds them so reliably," Malviya wrote. The party has claimed that the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has become a symbol of consistent electoral losses.

Reacting to the poll outcome, Congress’s Pawan Khera said that the early trends indicate that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar seems to be acting against the will of the people of Bihar. The AAP also echoed Congress criticism, claiming that the election had been hijacked, citing the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls conducted just ahead of the assembly polls. The opposition parties have accused the authorities of large-scale electoral malpractices, citing the recent revision of voter lists as a deliberate attempt to exclude communities that predominantly support the Mahagathbandhan.

Rahul Gandhi undertook a 16-day Voter Adhikar Yatra, covering 20 districts, highlighting what he termed 'vote chori' and accusing the Election Commission of colluding with the BJP to secure their victory. The Congress and the INDIA alliance presented the campaign as a critical "battle to save the Constitution" from a "vote-thief" government. Gandhi was one of the star campaigners for Congress in Bihar.
