2 Australian cricketers stalked, molested in Indore, accused arrested

In Madhya Pradesh, two cricketers of the Australian team participating in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup were allegedly stalked, and one of them molested, by a motorcycle-borne man in Indore, police said on Saturday. According to a report, the incident took place on Thursday morning along Khajrana Road, when the players had stepped out of their hotel and were walking towards a nearby cafe. A man on a motorcycle began following them and allegedly touched one of the cricketers inappropriately before fleeing the scene, said Sub-Inspector Nidhi Raghuvanshi. Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said that strict action will be taken against those involved, as this concerns the honour of our country.

Indore police arrested a man, Aqeel, for molesting two Australian women cricketers while they walked from Hotel Radisson Blu to a café. The players sent an SOS alert immediately. Security officers responded, and following a complaint by Officer Denny Simmons, the MIG police registered an FIR: Indore Police.
