In Karnataka, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the five-day National Youth Festival in Hubballi on Thuesday. Over 7500 youngsters representing the states and Union Territories India have congregated at the festival to exchange their talents and interact and exchange ideas for the growth of the country. Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister reminded the youngsters about the message given by Swamy Vivekananda to awaken, arise, and work for the development of the country. He also remembered Kittur Rani Chennamma who fought the British. He called upon the youngsters to be inspired by historic icons like Sangolli Rayanna, Narayan Mahadev and also Lance Naik Hanumanthappa, and Vishveshvarayya to work for the development of the country during the Amrith Kaal. He said that Yuva Shakthi can decide the future of our country. The inaugural event drew a large crowd who were witness to a colourful march past by the cultural troupes of different states and Union Territories and an elegant yoga performance. Malkhamb's display enthralled the audience.

Speaking on the occasion, the Union Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur said that Fit India, Khelo India and stand up India have encouraged sporting culture in the country. He pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a call to the youth to make a constructive contribution to the development of the country during the Amrith Kaal and achieve Swarnim Kaal.
