Alcaraz is set to rise to sixth in the world before the French Open later in May. It is his second Masters 1000 crown after Miami last month and his fourth title of the year. Earlier, Tunisia's Ons Jabeur clinched women's singles title to become the first African player to win a WTA 1000 event. The 27-year-old, the world number 10, trailed 4-1 early on and failed to win a game in the second set but still beat American Jessica Pegula 7-5, 0-6, 6-2. She was the first Arab player, male or female, to break into the world's top 10. The pair of Wesley Koolhof and Neal Skupski defeated Juan Sebastián Cabal and Robert Farah to win the men's doubles tennis title at the Madrid Open.
