Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel won the first ever Roller Skating Competition organized in Ladakh by Ladakh Roller Skate Association in collaboration with District Youth Office from Leh (11,500 feet) to khardungla.
In the male category of 42 Kms, first 3 positions were secured by the ITBP personnel who are part of the Central Ice Hockey Team of the force. Constable Namkar Dorjee won the competition with a timing of 3 hours 45 minutes. Constable Regzin Norboo secured 2nd position with a timing of 3 hours 47 minutes while Constable Tashi Tsering secured 3rd position with a timing of 4 hours 20 minutes.
In the female category of 21 Kms, Constable Diechen Spalzes of ITBP won the race with a timing of 2 hours 57 seconds. This is the first time that a roller skate event has been organized on such a height in India.
