IPL 2023:Gujarat Titans beat Chennai Super Kings in opening match

The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) began at  Ahmedabad Stadium on Friday.Cricket and glamour joined hands at the opening ceremony of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. From singer Arijit Singh's soothing songs to actresses Tamanna Bhatia and Rashmika Mandanna's performances, fans had a memorable evening ahead of the first match between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings. The ceremony took place for the first time in two years following the Covid-19 pandemic.

Later, in the opening match, Gujarat Titans, the defending champions, beat Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets in the opening match of the 2023 Indian Premier League in Ahmedabad on Friday. Shubman Gill top-scored with 63 as GT chased down 179 in a chase that went down to the final over of the match Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha powered Gujarat Titans to a strong start in their chase of 179.

 Earlier, Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 92 off 50 balls and MS Dhoni hit a quickfire 14 not out as CSK posted 178 for 7. Rashid Khan, Mohammed Shami and Alzarri Joseph took two wickets apiece while Joshua Little picked one. GT skipper Hardik Pandya had won the toss and opted to bowl first.
