Argentina will meet France in the final on Sunday with one team leaving the thumb-like peninsula with a third World Cup title. France, unlike many other defending champions in the past, have looked to be in great touch for two consecutive world cups. They have two players - Kylian Mbappe and Olivier Giroud - among the top contenders for the Golden Boot. Theo Hernandez and Randal Kolo Muani provided France with major breakthroughs as they defeated Morocco 2-0 at the Al Bayt Stadium on Thursday.

France, hence, became the first defending champions to qualify for consecutive World Cup finals since Brazil did it in 1998. Morocco took in a early goal but there were many moments when they could have nicked a goal leading to a semi-final that was end-to-end. More than 30,000 Moroccan fans had flooded the Al Bayt Stadium with Didier Deschamps saying that he had to prepare for dealing with the noise and atmosphere but the cheering from the supporters was not enough to deflate the quality of the France side, who were willing to get away with a scrappy win.
