FIFA World Cup:Spain, Japan & Belgium crushed their rivals

In FIFA WORLD CUP Football 2022, Spain crushed Costa Rica 7-0 in the Group E match on Wednesday, Dani Olmo gave Spain an early lead in the 11th minute after a beautiful pass by Gavi, which the forward netted over Costa Rica goalkeeper Keylor Navas. 11 minutes later, Marco Asensio doubled the lead with his first-time shot before a penalty stroke from Ferran Torres made it 3-0 at half-time.  The Spanish outfield put Costa Rica to sleep with their mind-boggling 537 passes in front of Costa's 73. Along the way, Spain became the first team since 1966 to complete 500 passes in the first half of a FIFA World Cup match.

In another match, Michy Batshuayi scored the only goal to give Belgium a 1-0 win over Canada at the World Cup on Wednesday, spoiling the North American team's return to the tournament after 36 years. The Canadians have yet to collect a point or even score a goal in four World Cup matches, which includes the three games from their debut in 1986. Still, they outplayed second-ranked Belgium at times at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, with Alphonso Davies — the star of Canada’s team — squandering the best chance when his penalty was blocked by Courtois.

Earlier,Japan beat  four times champions Germany by 2-1 in a Group-E encounter at Khalifa International Stadium in Qatar on Wednesday. lIkay Gundogan opened the scoring for Germany in the 33rd minutes of the first half through Penalty after David Raum was brought down in 18-yard box by the Japan goalkeeper.   Japan's Doan equalised the score in the 75 minutes of the second half while Asano scored the all important goal in the 83rd minute of the second half.
